Wellbeing team created at website performance and cyber security specialists

Leeds-based website performance and cybersecurity company RapidSpike has launched a dedicated wellbeing team to support its employees’ mental health – with a first charity challenge set to take place on World Suicide Prevention Day.

The young company has created a wellbeing team of five RapidSpike employees to put healthy high performance, resilience, and wellbeing at the heart of RapidSpike in a bid to enable each team member to excel and the business to thrive.  The business has also created a dedicated mental health guide to empower employees and give them resources needed to stay mentally strong and healthy while helping develop RapidSpikes journey.

RapidSpikes CEO Gav Winter:

“Wellbeing of the body, mind, social, the world, financially and in their careers is so important. People are the heart of every business and looking after them and their needs means you are looking after your business. We need to make sure everyone has the tools they need to be at their best but that they are supported when they have tough times be that in work or anything else.”

The RapidSpike wellbeing team is responsible for coordinating activities within the workplace which will encompass a variety of fun, social, community investment and charitable activities including taking on The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge for suicide prevention charity, Andys Man ClubTaking place on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10th September 2021, the team will walk the 24 miles across Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen y Ghent to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

Gav:  “We all need to be heard, especially when we feel like we can’t confide in our friends or loved ones for fear of judgment or feeling like we are failing. Andys Man Club fills a void that if left unchecked, unheard, or unseen can lead to terrible consequences, so more people need to know about them. Male suicide is a huge problem and just providing a safe talking space is one of the best solutions which is why we support Andys Man Club.”

The RapidSpike wellbeing team aims to support employees by focusing on four key areas of wellness: physical, financial, emotional, and social. Future activities include mental health first aid training, organising activities including group exercise classes, community events, and expert speakers, and implementing workplace benefits such as gym memberships, health insurance and a cycle to work scheme.
