NIQS

Revolutionising diabetes management. Ultimately, our technology will allow people living with diabetes and healthcare professionals to be more proactive, leading to reduced costs, complications, and death.

The challenges

To effectively manage their glucose levels, people living with diabetes are required to pierce their skin between 5-10 times per day to take a direct blood sample.

The alternative is to insert a wearable sensor underneath the skin surface for 7-14 days, and periodically change it.

These state-of-the-art monitoring technologies are invasive, not cost-effective, and not reusable, which significantly compromises effective diabetes management.

The reality is we are seeing greater numbers of people live with diabetes which leads to an increased economic burden on our healthcare systems, and these technologies are not up to the challenge.

Our solution

NIQS is focused on addressing these growing issues by developing a truly non-invasive, touch-based sensor that will revolutionise diabetes management.

Our unique optical sensing technology allows for convenient measurements to be made in real time, without needing to break the skin. The sensor is cost-effective, reusable, and easy to use for both healthcare professionals and people living with diabetes.

Our technology can be deployed as a table-top device that is capable of intermittent monitoring, but more importantly, it can be miniaturised into a wearable device capable of continuous glucose monitoring.

Ultimately, our technology will allow people living with diabetes and healthcare professionals to be more proactive, leading to reduced costs, complications, and death.
