More than 40% of all jobs are likely to be automated by 2030. This doesn’t necessarily mean 40% of jobs will cease to exist but it does mean the remaining roles fulfilled by humans are likely to evolve to rely heavily on tech and digital. Many initiatives promote and teach related skills such as coding but fail to make tech and digital skills accessible.
Their mistake is trying to make people passionate about tech when really we should be making people realise how tech relates to their passions.
With events organised to do just this, Global Digital Week is addressing the digital skills gap by familiarising people with different technologies and showing how technology can be used with their current skills to help them pursue their passions.
If we are to make the most of tomorrow we need to prepare today.
