Web Developer

Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Web Developer to join our team, who shares our passion for delivering awesome solutions for our clients. Ideally you will have spent a minimum of one year in a creative agency environment, in a similar web developer role. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone looking develop their career and increase their experience within web development. Your background and journey are irrelevant as long as you can satisfy the requirements of the role, possess the technical skills and knowledge to do so, and convince us you want to be part of the Buffalo revolution, you’re in!

Role Summary
You will be required to work on your own and alongside other team members and partner organisations, either in our offices or on location, on a variety of existing and new projects. Converting design concepts into fully functioning, standards compliant websites that fulfil our clients brief and needs, will be a key part of your role as will interacting directly with customers resolving their on-going support requests. Integrating these designs and templates into existing solutions and frameworks such as WordPress and Magneto will be also be an important part of your work, so previous commercial experience with open source database applications will be an advantage.

You will also be expected to suggest solutions and alternatives to a client’s needs based on your experience, previous work and understanding of the technologies available. Your role will not be strictly limited to web design and development and will include on site and off site Search Engine Optimisation activities and analysis, as well as commissioning hosting and domain registrations on behalf of clients, for which training will be supplied if required.

You may, on occasion, be required to carry out other duties, as are within your capabilities and level of responsibility, in order to meet the needs of the business.

Essential Skills / Attributes Required
You will have at least 1 years’ experience working in a similar role and ideally you will have an understanding of these technologies & disciplines:

PHP & MySql
HTML5, CSS3, JQuery & Javascript
Open Source CMS and e-commerce solutions (Joomla, WordPress, Zen Cart, Open Cart, Magento etc)
Adobe Master Collection Suite of Products
Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
Desirable Skills
An understanding of Search Engine Optimisation, Pay Per Click & Social Media
Relevant Search Qualification (i.e. Adwords Professional)
Personal Qualities
Strong problem solving skills
Familiarity with web industry best practice, guidelines, regulations and emerging trends
Excellent organisational skills
Be able to meet deadlines and manage projects successfully
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently & productively without supervision
Positive, results focussed, get things done attitude
First rate verbal and written communication skills
Innovation, loyalty, reliability, honesty and integrity
