Systems Development Team Leader

Technology is a cornerstone for Yorkshire Housing’s ambitions to become the most innovative housing organisation in the country. We now need a Systems Development Team Leader to plan and deliver the software solutions we need to achieve our long term aims.

Collaborating with colleagues from across the business using agile methodologies you will be responsible for leading a team of developers and having a scrum master approach. Motivating, leading and coaching a team of developers in delivery of projects.

You will be joining Yorkshire Housing at an exciting time, going through a major transformation programme improving the way we interact with our customers with lots of changes to the technology we use and how we work.

What will I be doing?

As the Systems Development Team Leader, you will engage with key stakeholders in the business. Working on key project’s to develop our digital offering for the business and customers. Developing our Office 365 and SharePoint environments, considering new innovative solutions to enable our digital agenda. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating policies & principles, planning & undertaking daily stand-ups, sprint planning, requirements analysis, test strategies & release processes
  • Gathering and clarifying requirements for software components and systems and ensuring alignment with the overall technical direction
  • Resolving sprint blockers and working closely with managers to plan and manage sprint workloads.
  • Coordinating delivery and managing the transition into the live/production environment

You will be a key innovator in new agile working practices and champion these across the IT team.

Additional Requirements Include:

  • Demonstrable experience of acting as Scrum Master and delivering key projects
  • Expert understanding of a wide range of systems and processes particularly within the Microsoft stack including SharePoint and Dynamics
  • Expert knowledge of agile working practices such as Prince2, Waterfall, Agile and confidence in championing an agile working practice across the IT teams.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to technical & non-technical colleagues in a clear, consist way.

In return we offer £48,619 for a 35-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.

This is a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) role is based at Dysons Chambers, Leeds, however due to Covid and other factors it is anticipated the work will be undertaken predominantly on a remote basis from home, with minimal travelling into Leeds on an ad-hoc basis.
