It is designed to train a limited and carefully selected group of learners each year, who can demonstrate the right attitude and aptitude for becoming excellent software developers.
If selected, in its particular instance you’ll be hired by BJSS and undertake the Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship.
You do not have to have experience. However, a willingness to learn and demonstration of self-learning is essential to success.

How it works
Applications are open annually between January and June. If your application is shortlisted, we will be in touch during the week 5-9th of July for a short virtual interview. Candidates will then be invited to attend an assessment and selection day which will be held on Tuesday 27th July. If you successfully secure a paid place on the programme, it will start employment and training on 20th September 2021.

Salary
While on the training programme as a software developer apprentice, salaries range from £18,000 to £23,000.
This will vary from employer to employer hiring through the programme.
Once qualified, you will be a junior software developer.
According to our Skills Audit, salaries for junior software developers are on average approximately £20,000-27,000.
The programme
The programme starts in September and runs for 24 months, with 18 months of supported training while you undertake paid full-time work with your employer.

We're looking for people who will go an extra mile to understand our clients' strategic and operational challenges and help us to design and deliver innovative solutions. You'll have worked with: ETL tools or have experience profiling and cleaning the data. Preferably with Pandas or SQL Data visualisation tools. Primarily Power BI, Tableau or Qlik DB model design tools, like Erwin, and know different modelling techniques (Kimball, Inmon, …) Experience with AWS or Azure would be helpful.
