About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Microsoft engineer, with a good width and depth of knowledge of both ‘on-prem’ and ‘as-a-Service’ solutions, to work in an agile team delivering customer & internal projects using the latest Microsoft Data Technologies inclusive of SQL Server and Azure Data Platform.  You will be leading on project deliverables from design to implementation and ensuring a smooth transition into service.

Your main duties will include:

· Act as a technical mentor to Engineers and other Senior Engineers within the department

· Develop solutions based on technical documentation from Technical Leads, Technical Architects and delivery managers.

· Have input to statement of works and assist with subject matter experts in developing state of the art solutions

· On occasion to visit customer sites with colleagues to deliver solutions / demonstrations / attend meetings etc.

· On occasion to work remotely from a customer site under customer direction.

· Input on Piksel and departmental IT strategies and procedures

· Actively take part in the on-call rota

About You

You will be a knowledgeable technical person, ideally with relevant certification who works with colleagues and customers to deliver high quality production systems in either managed service or professional service (project) capacities.

You will have experience with enterprise level databases and infrastructure, competent in a scripting language/tool such as PowerShell, Puppet, Docker or equivalent.

You will have a customer centric approach and will be focused on delivering the right outcome for each of our customers. You’ll bring passion, positivity and enthusiasm to the role, and be committed to developing your career within Technology.

You will be highly technical and hands-on with experience of the whole development life cycle and be committed to design, build and deployment excellence.
