Senior Engineer (AWS)

About the Role

We are looking for a permanent Senior Engineer with experience in AWS, to support us with key customer projects across a number of industries. While we would welcome applications from applicants with a solid experience base, we’re also looking for motivated candidates who want to progress their development and focus on where they want to ‘get to’ rather than where they ‘came from’.

This is a technical role within Piksel, working with colleagues and customers on a range of systems and services, from on-premise to the AWS cloud eco system. The right candidate will be comfortable with applying formal methods and procedures to manage incidents and changes, and will be performing diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems to make sure our customers’ environments run smoothly.

Your main areas of exposure:

  • AWS eco system
  • Infrastructure as code and configuration management tooling
  • Assisting Project Managers with approach, plans, and task management
  • Working collaboratively with customer and Piksel teams to design, develop, and implement service improvements
  • Problem investigation and resolution
  • Owning the quality of the delivered features and services i.e. available, stable, secure, and well designed
  • Ensuring low maintenance post-deployment, by guaranteeing the solution has been well tested, debugged, and has followed our design processes and best practices
  • Supporting the company’s work to introduce and refine an approach for design, development, and product support including continuous delivery and DevOps principles

About You

You will be a self-motivated and professional candidate with a confident, diplomatic approach and ability to influence others and work well in a multi-discipline team.

You should possess a deep technical understanding and good experience of AWS tools and services, automated infrastructure provisioning, and Configuration Management in Enterprise public cloud environments. Experience using Azure and Google Cloud is also of interest.

You will have DevOps experience within good understanding of principles, tooling, practical implementations and coding skills.
