The successful candidate will be a talented Senior Business Intelligence Developer who will be working on a variety of aspects relating to the delivery of end-to-end data warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions. Working with colleagues within the Data Services division and the wider company will be essential. We don’t expect specific knowledge of ophthalmology, but we’re looking for a quick learner who is genuinely excited about our product, our market, and how we can improve the practice of specialist eye care. Medisoft, the UK’s leading provider of software for hospital ophthalmology services and private eye clinics, is an award-winning Leeds-based healthcare IT company; developing and supplying the UK’s bestselling ophthalmology patient records system. Our flagship product is used routinely at over 150 hospitals worldwide to help clinical teams assess vision defects and save sight.

mediSIGHT® will replace our main product, Medisoft Ophthalmology, as Medisoft’s flagship product, consolidating over 20 years of product development and user feedback.

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will be a talented Senior Business Intelligence Developer who will be working on a
variety of aspects relating to the delivery of end-to-end data warehousing and Business Intelligence
solutions. Working with colleagues within the Data Services division and the wider company will be
essential.

Main duties and responsibilities include:
 Ongoing maintenance and development of the organisation’s data warehouse including integration of
3rd party data sources
 Maintain, develop, evaluate and enhance existing BI solutions including ETL processes (SSIS) and enduser reporting (SSRS)
  Lead a small team of BI developers including mentoring; professional and personal development; and
general team management
 Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve data errors / discrepancies
 Ensure all development work is carried out to agreed high levels of quality
 Enhance productive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
 Handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and timeliness are not compromised.
 Ensure confidentiality and information governance policies are strictly adhered to when working with
sensitive data.
 Develop and maintain appropriate documentation e.g. schema documentation and release notes and
ensure that such documentation is kept up to date.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
 In-depth working knowledge and experience working with relational databases
 Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
 Advanced MS SQL Server skillset (T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, dynamic SQL)
 Proven experience using all components of full Microsoft BI Stack – SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
 Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
 Strong work ethic
 Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on quality
 Excellent communication and organisational skills
 Leadership and management skills

The post is based at our offices in Leeds, but occasional travel may be required.
