React Native Developer (2 vacancies) NUDGER UK

Job Description

Help us shape the future of health care… not sick care.

Nudger Ltd. is launching a national mobile wellness rewards platform, aimed at rewarding UK residents for living healthier lives, every day. The platform combines the latest activity tracking capabilities with behavioural science, social connectivity and data and analytics to drive sustained behaviour change at a national scale.

In this role, you will join a seasoned team of business leaders, behavioural scientists and engineers with years of experience in this space. Under the guidance of our CTO, you will be developing a new, redesigned platform for launch into the UK market.

The world has changed, and so has the way we work. We believe you can work where you work best (whether it’s in the office all the time, a few days a week, or none of the time). For the time being we are fully remote, but will continue to have be permanently flexible once in-person work can resume.

At Nudger, everyone is welcome. Diversity makes us better, and we believe in building diversity across cultural identity, gender, sexual orientation, age and education, thought and experience.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.

The Role

We are looking for a React Native Developer interested in building performant mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms. You will be responsible for architecting and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to quality is required.

  • Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.

  • Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.

  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.

  • Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.

  • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.

  • Implement and maintain automated build and deploy pipelines

  • Implement device storage to improve app response and minimize network calls

  • Integrate with device monitoring tools such as health and activity data (Apple Health, GoogleFit, Samsung Health)

  • Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax

  • Knowledge of functional & object-oriented programming

  • Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code

  • Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts

  • Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, Gradle, Android Studio, IntelliJ

  • Understanding of REST APIs, the document request model, and offline storage

  • Experience with automated testing suites, like Jest or Mocha

  • Experience with localization of applications

  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

  • At least 3 years of experience with React Native
