MS Dynamics Developer

What we’re looking for:

Are you someone with a passion for engineering? You who will be responsible for our build and delivery whilst supporting our technology across a number of our key business areas within Direct Line Group.

 

We are looking for a variety of software Engineers at all levels, from Junior to Senior. If you have experience with the below technologies, then DLG could have a role for you!

  • MS Dynamics 365 + SDK
  • MS Power Platform
  • CI/CD
  • C# & Visual Studio
  • Azure and Azure Integration Services
  • Azure DevOps
  • REST
  • Database design, capacity and usage in SQL Server

 

Our Tech Enabling Tribe are able to be home based, so we welcome your application wherever you may live. If you’re successful, you’ll be working from home the majority of the time, and we’ll work with you to make sure you’re set up with everything you need. You may be required to travel into our offices on occasion for certain meetings and training so please consider this when you apply.

 

Who you’ll be working with:

The Technology Engineering Tribe (TET) works across all the business and customer facing Tribes and is part of our Engineering Chapter. The TET Mission is, “Be awesome at building and running technology”. As a member of the multi-functional squad you will be contributing towards team objectives and key results for our business delivering platforms with the customer at the heart of its focus.

 

Working directly with the business, and third parties as part of an autonomous squad you will help adopt industry standard methodologies in the Agile software development

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Configure, develop and operate MS Dynamics systems
  • Work with partners to understand business requirements and design solutions
  • Build and support integrations to external data sources
  • Create C# & .NET customizations
  • Maintain a CI/CD pipeline to enable regular implementations
  • Resolve technical and functional issues
  • Work as part of an Agile squad contributing to the constant improvement of working practices
  • Ensure software quality by unit, integration and End-to-End testing.
  • Research new technologies and propose improvements to existing platforms as well as migration from legacy systems.
  • Broad knowledge on technical methodologies (Agile, ITIL, Testing), tools and practices, as well as being a superb communicator with excellent presentation, stakeholder and written skills.

 

Direct Line Group has recently moved to a new Agile way of working and are looking for senior engineers to seek the role of Engineering Chapter Lead, where they can practise their craft as well as mentor and support a squad of engineers with a servant leadership approach and mentality. If this is of interest to you please make sure to give examples of any people management experience, especially within an agile organisation, that you have in your application.

Knowledge of the insurance industry is desirable but not essential. If you have experience in Atlassian Cloud Suite, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Jfrog Artifactory and AWS this would be advantageous.       Experience of coding – shell scripting and Python are essential, other languages are advantageous.       Practical experience of running Developer Tools and Services – experience with following products would be beneficial: Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, GitHub Enterprise.       Experience of AWS cloud service.        Integration patterns and approaches as well as end-to-end testing.        Experience in supporting Production service.       Excellent communication skills.

We are looking for a polyglot programmer with expertise in Java and its ecosystem. Java is the main language however additional languages such as: JavaScript, Python, HTML are desirable. Best practices in Agile Software Development and CI/CD are required to help us achieve high quality and maintainable software here at DLG. It would be beneficial to have AWS and DevOps knowledge and its practical application too.
