Owing to continued growth, CDS are seeking a Development Manager to join their team based in Leeds. You will proactively manage a team of .net backend and frontend developers and testers, ensuring the team delivers to the highest quality, that best practice approaches are adopted, maintained and extended that that the most appropriate technologies, tools and techniques are introduced.
You will be an outgoing and personable experienced manager with the ability to take the initiative and pro-actively lead the improvement of the technical output of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a point of escalation on all technical issues and problems
To proactively manage the delivery team demonstrating knowledge, experience and understanding of complex technical solutions
Ability to take the technical Lead on key projects where required
Maintain and lead on current best practice relating to software development and 3rd party solutions
Ensure DevOps tools and practices are in place and in use for projects leveraging as much automation as possible
Authoring and presenting technical specification and solution architectures
Enforce standards with the aim of improving quality of delivered applications
Act as a figure head and active thought leader both within the agency and within the digital community

Professional Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:
Previous significant commercial experience from a development or architecture background
Expert knowledge of build and deployment pipelines utilising Azure DevOps
Experience of leading and developing a software development team ideally within a digital agency environment ensuring that deadlines and project goals are met.
Clear experience of working within a structured code environment with formal source and version control and security management.
Technical design and solutions architecture. Ability to visualise and build solutions end to end from design through to deployment.
Process and documentation experience, authoring and presenting technical specification and solution architectures. Experience with applying development processes and best practices.
Excellent communications skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with clients and the internal team based on respect of knowledge, openness and trust
Extensive client facing experience and the ability to present ideas/solutions clearly to both clients and colleagues
Experienced web developer with excellent knowledge of the Web i.e. web based architectures, ISP models, fixed and the cloud.
Database development in MS SQL including database creation, stored procedures and triggers.

Some of the required knowledge and experience: Practical hands-on skills with a testing tool appropriate to their test discipline: Visual Studio Test Manager. Selenium. SpecFlow (Cucumber / Gherkin).
