For example, we recently worked with a client to create a digital assistant to deliver a new person-centred service. In 14 weeks we engaged over 100 customers in research, ran multiple design sessions and built a working prototype that combined a mix of technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), mobile, big data, machine learning, cloud and social media platforms.
We launched SPARCK in May 2016 and since then we have worked with many clients and demand is growing! From an initial hub in London we’re now operating in Leeds, Bristol, Nottingham and Edinburgh.
We are looking for a talented Content Designer to come and join our team.
We are looking for bright, high-energy and creative people who want to help us push boundaries. You will join a team of passionate people who want to build an exciting business and you will help both SPARCK and our clients shape content around what we produce internally and for clients.
You’ll be working with some amazing clients in a ‘beyond agile’ way, informing content across projects.
Excellent command of English language
Be able to take complex language and processes and make simple to understand
Help make the case for user-centred design solutions
Be able to explain key decisions clearly
working within a complex development environment
several sectors or being able to quickly research new sectors (health, finance, retail, etc)
tone of voice and simplifying the content for the general population
be sensitive to design issues, such as visual balance, the pace of the page and how the eye consumes content
liaising with user researchers, service designer, business analysts, UX designers and developers to iterate on screens to deliver content that brings the best overall experience
Understanding or willingness to learn and adhere to GDS (Government Digital Standards) when applicable
Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital content
Helping to make sure user journeys are the best they can be
Managing relationships with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate
Producing content assets that are accurate, timely, high quality (based on insight and outputs of user testing, relevant to the audience, easily understood, optimised for search engines) and to style
Choosing the best format for displaying information to the user – if we don’t have one, we’ll want you to suggest ideas or identify the gap
Making sure appropriate policy and legal checks within other parts of government happen, and that content is published quickly and efficiently
Monitoring the performance of content and tools
Working with a multi-disciplinary team to understand user behaviour and feedback
Identifying ways to improve the content and the product
Providing constructive criticism to your colleagues to improve everyone’s skills and work
Writing content for several sectors and being able to immerse in the terminology and context of those sectors.
