In this session, Emma Yates, Legal Director – Head of Intellectual Property at rradar will be conducting an overview of the fundamentals of copyright law, which is the law that underpins AI (from an IP perspective).

Emma will then do a deeper dive into the critical questions ( from an IP perspective) that are relevant to the development of AI and IP law that need to be dealt with and clarified on a legal or governmental level:

• Who owns the content created by AI?
• What rules/legislative framework govern the use of content by AI, particularly when it gathers information from various sources that have the benefit of copyright protection.
