Startups 100 Names Vet-AI for Second Year Running

Startups 100 is the longest running annual index of its kind, annually ranking the UK’s top fast-growth, new businesses launched in the last 5 years.

In common with all of the other businesses on the list, Vet-AI has demonstrated innovation, solid financials, economic impact and the ability to scale.

Tech entrepreneur Paul Hallet founded Vet-AI in 2017, alongside veterinarians Robert Dawson and Sarah Warren.  They set up the company as an R & D business, developing solutions to support pets as well as vets and pet owners.  This has been effective in enabling access to more affordable care, when it is needed the most.

In May 2019, Vet-AI’s flagship brand, Joii, was launched, having been built using cutting-edge, bespoke technology.  The app helps pet owners to diagnose and receive recommendations for treatment for their pets, without having to leave their homes.

Based at Nexus, Leeds, the company now has a team of 70 vet and tech professionals.  Paul said:

“To have made the top 100 Startups list for the second year is a huge achievement for us and testament to the hard work of both our clinical team and those responsible for the technology that makes Joii Pet Care truly unique.

The last few months saw demand for remote veterinary care increase quickly as people stayed at home. We have been treating thousands of cases online. It goes to show, with real evidence now, the majority of pet concerns/ issues can be resolved online. Affordable and convenient pet health care is now a reality through Joii.”
